Wiltshire Pantry Bakery and Cafe

901 Barret Avenue Louisville, KY 40204

I found this cute little place while I was going for a walk one day in the Original Highlands. But it was late afternoon and it was closed. I made a note in my phone to return (with all my other restaurants to go to). Wiltshire Pantry Bakery and Cafe is closed Monday, but open Tuesday through Friday 7 am to 3 pm, Saturday 8 am to 3 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 2 pm (bread, pastries, and coffee only).

Wiltshire Pantry has been a catering company since 1989 and creates custom menus for your event. They also have Wiltshire on Market which has a weekly changing dinner menu using fresh, local ingredients and is open Thursday through Sunday. And it appears Wiltshire Pantry most recently expanded by opening this Bakery and Cafe.

Upon entering on a Sunday morning, we were greeted by the staff and asked if we would like to hear about today’s selections. Breakfast pastries, homemade granola bars, muffins, french toast, frittatas…all freshly made on site that morning so the menu changes each day. My friend couldn’t pass up the french toast casserole with a cream filling and fresh berries and I went with the frittata with kale, tomato, feta, and mushrooms which came with a small side of fresh fruit. Our breakfast cost $5-6 each. We also ordered coffee and tea which even came with a timer so I would know how long to let my tea steep.

There is limited seating but we didn’t have any trouble getting a table on Sunday around 9:30 am. Their website says they focus on “grab and go” menu items so it would be the perfect place to pick up breakfast before a meeting or food on your lunch break. But if you feel like hanging out, it would be a nice place to spend the morning catching up with a good friend or enjoying your coffee while you read.

  1. Looks like a great place to have breakfast if we are ever in Louisville. Love that they give you a timer for the tea.

  2. Marty says:

    That frittata looks incredible!
