Toast on Market

620 East Market Street Louisville, KY 40202

Toast on Market should be your go-to weekend brunch location. They have a great variety of breakfast and lunch options at reasonable prices.

We arrived at 9 am on a Sunday and didn’t have to wait for a table. Come much later, and there will be a crowd at the door. We sat on their enclosed patio by the fire (and a nearby outdoor heat lamp) which was cozy for a January morning. There are also two indoor seating areas.

My boyfriend and friend ordered the South of the Border omelette, which is made of chorizo sausage, white cheddar cheese, and a side of salsa and sour cream. They described the eggs as light and fluffy, which you definitely want in an omelette. I had the Monte Cristo, which consists of two slices of brioche, ham, and baby swiss cheese with a side of orange marmalade. If you remember my Village Anchor brunch post, this Monte Cristo is much lighter as it isn’t fried, but it’s still that perfect combination of sweet and savory. We all chose the hash brown casserole as our side, which I would recommend. Go with the fresh fruit if you’re trying to have a healthier breakfast. Our breakfast was reasonably priced ($8.25 for my Monte Cristo and $8.75 for the South of the Border omelette), and I was comfortably full after this meal without any leftovers.

The first time I went to Toast, I went with a group of my girlfriends visiting from out of town so we all got mimosas. Toast has an excellent variety of alcoholic breakfast beverages! During both visits, the servers have been friendly, offer great recommendations when asked, and keep your coffee cup full (or the mimosas coming).

Check out their breakfast and lunch menu. Breakfast is available all day! Toast on Market is open Tuesday-Friday 7 am-2 pm, Saturday-Sunday 7 am-3 pm, and closed on Mondays. They also have a location in New Albany, IN.
