For Goodness Crepes

619 Baxter Avenue Louisville, KY 40204

I’m so excited that this cute little crepe shop opened in my neighborhood! I actually stopped in sometimes in January when it was freakishly warm for winter after a walk with my boyfriend (now, fiance!) and my parents. It makes for a fun place with bright colors, positive quotes and messages on their walls, and games and magnetic poetry at the tables.

For Goodness Crepes has savory, breakfast, dessert, and build-your-own crepe varieties, ranging in price $5.40-9.29. We were just trying them out, so we only got two but will have to go back to check out the other kinds. Elvis with a Kick is filled with bananas, sweet peanut butter sauce, caramel sauce-all of Elvis’ favorite flavors, as well as some of mine. But I think I liked Quite the Di’Lemon more, which was made with lemon cream cheese and blueberries or strawberries (we chose blueberries). Yum! I was going to take a picture of it opened but that just doesn’t photograph well.

For Goodness Crepes is open Tuesday-Friday 11 am-9 pm and Saturday-Sunday 8 am-9 pm. Check out their Facebook page, and then go check them out in person and and let me know which crepe is your favorite!

Four Sisters

2246 Frankfort Avenue Louisville, KY 40206

Looking for a casual place for breakfast and coffee? My girlfriends are visiting this weekend and we checked out Four Sisters for brunch on this beautiful and finally warm day! (Despite the snow in the above picture.)

We walk in and are offered paper flowers for International Women’s Day- we’re calling it Girlfriends’ Day! How cute are these?

Four Sisters is a laid back and welcoming atmosphere where you seat yourself in one of two rooms. There are tables throughout and a back room with a couch and a shelf with Jenga and other games/books for entertainment during your visit.

We started with Vietnamese iced coffee- sweetened condensed milk with a coffee drip, then mix and pour over ice. The sweetened condensed milk makes it thicker and rich tasting. Yum- a good treat to celebrate time together and a belated birthday. Missing our friend in Durham, NC this weekend though!

Other beverage options include mocha, hot chocolate, chai latte, blended drinks, smoothies, and hot or iced tea. Drinks range in price $1.89-4.29.

Four Sisters has a variety of crepes- both savory and sweet. We were all in the mood for savory and all have the same tastes because we ordered the same one. So I’m sorry that I can’t report about the other crepes on the menu. Our crepe had goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, caramelized onions, egg, and chives topped with balsamic reduction- which had the perfect combination of each without any one ingredient being too overpowering. It looks big but you’ll want one per person. My friend said she was “full but not overly grossly full” like you might be at a brunch buffet.

Other savory crepes on the menu are: egg & cheese; ham, egg & cheese; tomato, basil & mozzarella; smoked salmon, cream cheese & red onion; avocado, sauteed mushroom, creamed spinach & feta. Savory crepes range in price $6.50-8.50. We wouldn’t mind having bacon in one. Sweet crepe options include: honey lavender, banana nutella, s’mores, and white chocolate, strawberry & almonds. I will definitely be back to try one of these! Sweet crepes cost $3.50-6.75.

Banh mi, Vietnamese sandwich, is also offered here. They have pork, chicken, tofu, and beef options. Try one for lunch some day for $6.50-7.50.

Four Sisters is open Tuesday-Thursday 11 am- 8 pm, Friday-Saturday 9 am- 8 pm, and Sunday 9 am- 4 pm. Check out their facebook page.
